This spacious farmhouse, sleeping 12, offers quintessential country living & is ideal for large families. Part of an immaculately kept working beef and arable farm, with horses and chickens nearby, the house offers a taste of luxurious country living, is stylishly presented and well equipped and enjoys beautiful panoramic views across the Avon valley. There is a bedroom on the ground floor and, although the bathroom is on the first floor, the house may be suitable for those with limited mobility.
The space
Hingston Farm has been our family home for 30 years, and we have worked the beautiful countryside whilst bringing up our 3 children. They have now left home (Whoop Whoop!!!) and we rent the Farmhouse and Annexe out as holiday lets.
There are large gardens with plenty of space and the property is dog friendly.
A minute’s walk from the renowned Oyster Shack and the popular Avon estuary, the sandy beaches of Bigbury, Bantham and Salcombe are nearby.

Beautiful bespoke Kitchen equipped with under floor heating and an Induction Range with three ovens, two hobs and a warming plate, dishwasher, microwave, fridge, island unit with marble work surfaces and breakfast bar. Step up to dining area with dining table which extends to seat 14.
Traditional lounge with log burner, large flat screen TV and DVD, large sofas.
Cloakroom off the lounge, also housing shelves of books and games.
Bedroom 5:Twin bedroom with 2 x single 3’ beds and also z bed. Adjacent WC with basin, also housing shelves of books and games.
Walk in larder with large fridge freezer. Rear kitchen entrance to garden and access to utility store and driveway.
Stairs to First floor. Master Bedroom 1 with 5’ King size bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers, en suite shower room with WC and basin.
Bedroom 2: Triple bedroom with 3’ bunk beds and 3’ single bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers.
Bedroom 3: Twin bedroom with 2 x 3’ single beds, wardrobe, chest of drawers.
Bedroom 4: Double bedroom with 4’ 6” bed, wardrobe and best morning views!
Luxurious family bathroom with walk in shower enclosure, rainfall and power showers, freestanding roll top bath, basin and heated towel rail.
Adjacent is a separate WC.
The house is heated by a wood chip boiler and is controlled thermostats. You can turn it up or turn it down, is on 24hrs a day as is the hot water… so plenty of warmth even for Granny.
We have travel cots (bring your own baby bedding), stair gates fitted and high chairs for the little ones.
Outside: A large undulating landscaped garden surrounds the rear of the property for exclusive use of farmhouse guests, with patio area and garden furniture. To the front of the property is a walled garden with lawn and patio area. There are farm chickens nearby providing fresh eggs for guests and a separate fenced field opposite which guests of Hingston Farm are welcome to use for exercising dogs and playing, with fabulous far reaching views across the estuary.
Utility store/Garage , washing machine and drying racks, space for storing sports equipment.
Parking: Ample parking for cars, boat and trailer adjacent to property on driveway and in covered car port. Room for everyone!
Dog Rules: Under no circumstances must pets be left unaccompanied within the property. No pets upstairs (stair gates fitted) or on furniture. Any poop to be cleared up, and any damaged caused by your pets to be paid for. A large cage, dog towels, plastic dog bed and a hot water pet shower can be used, so after a fun filled day on the beach everyone can go to bed refreshed and have a good night’s sleep. Generally dogs have more fun than their owners at Hingston!!
