The Annexe offers quintessential country living. Stylishly presented, well equipped and enjoys views across the Avon valley. Part of an immaculately kept working beef and arable farm, with horses and chickens nearby, the Annexe at Hingston Farm is a self contained wing of the principal farmhouse and is incredibly comfortable and cosy. Dog friendly.
A minute’s walk from the renowned Oyster Shack and the popular Avon estuary, the sandy beaches of Bigbury, Bantham and Salcombe are nearby.

The space
The main farmhouse is joined to the Annexe and can be accessed through an internal door but this will be locked and is sound proofed for your comfort.
From parking area to Front Door.
Open plan Sitting Room/ Kitchen. Flat screen TV, kitchenette with counter top oven oven, microwave and two ring hob, under counter fridge/freezer and dishwasher.
Bedroom 1 : large and spacious with King size sleigh bed , walk in wardrobe, with en suite shower room.

Outside: A lean-to on the side of the shed opposite the Annexe gives an undercover BBQ /alfresco eating area with charcoal BBQ’s. There’s a fire pit and chairs to sit and mull over the day watching shooting stars and drink wine into the night. There are farm chickens nearby providing fresh eggs for guests and a separate fenced field opposite which guests of Hingston Farm are welcome to use for exercising dogs and playing, with fabulous far reaching views across the estuary.

Parking: in covered car port across drive.
Shared Utility store/Garage : houses the washing machine and drying racks, with space for storing sports equipment.
The Annexe is heated by a wood chip boiler and is controlled by a thermostat. You can turn it up or turn it down, is on 24hrs a day as is the hot water… so plenty of warmth.

Dog Rules: one dog is welcome but under no circumstances must pets be left unaccompanied within the property. No pets upstairs (stair gates fitted) or on any furniture. Any poop to be cleared up, and any damaged caused by your pets to be paid for. We have fields to play fetch in, and some good walks around the farm. Generally dogs have more fun than their owners at Hingston!!

Annexe at Hingston Farm Reviews

4.9 out of 5 stars based on 21 customer reviews.

  • We must have picked the worst weekend, weather wise, to visit Devon!
However, the warm welcome we received from Susie more than made up for the rain and wind. The Annex was warm, spotlessly clean and had everything we needed for our stay including the facility to charge our electric car, as well as some delicious biscuits and fresh eggs waiting for us on arrival.
The setting is stunning! It has fine views to the river and many local footpaths to explore using the maps/local info supplied by Susie. We thoroughly enjoyed staying at The Annex, and hope to visit again with our family and stay in the lager farmhouse next door.

Warm welcome by friendly hosts. Heating was on when we arrived - lovely and warm. Large, comfortable bed. Great views and location for beaches, especially Bigbury-on Sea . Check the tides to use the Tidal Rd and access to local beaches. Vist Holleywell Stores at St. Annes Chapel for local supplies - excellent shop!

  • Lovely place to stay in a beautiful location. Nice little touches with milk, eggs and flapjack ready for our arrival. Our daughter enjoyed seeing and feeding the horses. Ideal location to visit the Oyster Shack which does amazing sea food.

Very relaxing stay with a lot to see while walking around the Farm. Everyone we met Susie, John etc made us feel very welcome. Our Annexe was so large for 2 people and our large dog, bed very comfortable, bathroom was also very large and very clean. Lots of info including maps etc if needed.

  • Susie was a lovely host, replied fast and left us milk, eggs and biscuits. Her place is brilliantly located and we loved her friendly dogs that greeted us! We were moved to the main house as the annexe we booked was being decorated. Hope to return and stay in the annexe soon!
